Born in Saint-Petersburg in 1945, A. Nik is a Russian artist, poet and writer.
He was a photographer by education. His first short stories were published in 1972 in Аврора magazine. In 1973 emigrated to Prague, where he was publishing samizdat magazine "Munk" (in Czech language, since 1984). Since 1975 he was an author in samizdat magazine Часы, later also in Transponans, Черновик and many others. Some of his short stories were published in "Антология новейшей русской поэзии у Голубой Лагуны" by Kuzminsky.
These days his works are in private collections, with large chunk being in the library of emigrant and samizdat literature Libri Prohibiti in Prague.
He was born Nikolai Iljich Axelrod, but worked under pseudonym A.Nik.
He joined Transfurism movement in 1979.
