Born in Saint-Petersburg in 1950, Boris Konstriktor is a Russian artist, poet, avant-gardist and erudite.
He has a degree in Economics, but chose path of creative writing and art instead. He was writing poems since early childhood. Today he is an author in numerous magazines both in Russia and abroad (Transponans, Часы, Обводный Канал, Черновик), laureate of several awards (e.g. Mark of David Burluk from Academy of Zaum), one of editors of magazine Крещатик. He performed in Saint-Petersburg, Moscow and Cologne, illustrated various books. In 1993, he was an artist in residence in Schloss Solitude Academy, Stuttgart.
He was born Boris Mikhailovich Axelrod, but works under few pseudonyms. He primarily uses Boris Vantalov pseudonym for his poetry and novels, and Boris Konstriktor for drawings and avant-garde writing.
He joined Transfurism movement in 1979, which triggered creation of his Boris Konstriktor pseudonym.
